New Birmingham manager Lee Clark has started his new role off well by making all the right noises when being interviewed by the media.

No sooner had the 39 year old been handed the keys to St Andrews than he was saying that his sole aim for next season was to land Blues back in the Premier League, even though he has a very difficult job to do and very little money to do it with.

Clark is no in a position to prove the bosses at Huddersfield were wrong to give him the boot, even with the club in fourth place when the dirty deed was done.

Now he has the chance to take a bigger club to the dizzy heights of the top flight and have the chance to beat his old club twice while doing it.

By now he will know that there is little money at Blues and there is a transfer embargo on the club anyway due to being a little late with the 2010/11 accounts.

But Clark is not fazed by this in any way, he believes that he will be in charge of a premiership set up, but he feels confident that he is the man to put the club back there.

He spoke to the club`s official website saying: ‘Without a doubt I will aim to entertain the Blues fans.

‘My record speaks for itself. In my two full seasons at Huddersfield we were in third position in the league for the highest goalscorers, the next season we were fourth only behind the clubs who got automatic promotion and when I left in February we’d scored more than anybody else in the league.

‘This is a big, big club as I know from whenever I’ve been fortunate enough to be here as a player or as a member of the opposition coaching staff.

Clark also praised the fans of Birmingham and said that they would be right to have high expectations of him and he promised that fans would see a very hardworking side playing games at St Andrews next season.

He added: ‘The passion and drive of the fans is superb and when you walk around and see the facilities and the stadium then you know that this is a Premier League club in waiting.

‘One thing that I’ll be bringing with me is the work ethic, the desire, the passion that I have for the game and I will strive every day to make the club better.’
