Birmingham City have announced that the man to take his place on the manager`s seat at the club is Lee Clark.

Clark takes over from Chris Hughton and comes to St Andrews with a good record in management behind him, including being in charge of Huddersfield`s extra long unbeaten run.

He was one of the fans favourites for the job right from the off and he impressed chairman Peter Pannu during his two interviews before the appointment.

However, the speculation is that Alan Curbishley and Roy Keane were the names that the powers that be at the club were interested in talking into coming to St Andrews, but they both decided that the job was not for them.

If this is true then that sets more alarm bells ringing into just how big a state the club is in, we know that a return to the Premiership was vital to the club last season, but after not achieving that goal, one wonders if the rumours are true about there being a measly transfer kitty and more players will be on the way out.

Good Luck Mr Clark.
