Former Blues assistant manager Terry McDermott believes Birmingham City will reach the end of the season well clear of the relegation zone.

The Blues ex-number two, who left the club a fortnight ago along with Terry Fazackerley, feels that Blues will end the season safe, but after this season he is not sure what the future holds for City.

McDermott was at St Andrews for 18 months and admits that leaving the club left him feeling sad, but he will keep up with what happens at the club.

“I think Birmingham`s results are going to continue to be as they have – up and down,” said McDermott to the Birmingham Mail.

“There will be good results and bad results. But I am convinced they will stay up. Absolutely convinced about that.’
