Queens Park Rangers will be keeping an eye on Ravel Morrison ahead of the game at St Andrews on Saturday.

Morrison is hoping to make a winning return to St Andrews, but he played in the England under 21 game against Wales on Wednesday and had to be taken off because of a minor injury.

QPR are hoping that it should not make a difference to the weekend game and he should start, but these things are never cut and dried.

England Under-21 boss Gareth Southgate said: “He lives for football and was disappointed probably not to get into the game as he would have liked.

“He had a tightness in his thigh, so we were never going to play him for more than 60-65 minutes. I had a chat with him afterwards and he was fine [about being substituted].”
