Key player Vs. Leeds

Birmingham City welcome promotion chasing Leeds United to St Andrew`s on Friday evening looking to record back to back wins for the first time under Gianfranco Zola.

Last weeks win at Wolves could prove to be a huge step in the right direction for Zola and his players but only if they back it up with a win against Garry Monk`s side.

If Blues are to gain their second successive win and complete the season double over Leeds, then I think that Che Adams is going to be key to it.

The-20-year old put in an outstanding performance as the lone striker at Molineux and really ran himself into the ground.

Even if Lukas Jutkiewicz returns back from injury, I think that Adams has well and truly earned his place in Friday’s team.

His hunger, his tenacity and desire to work hard for the team really shone through last week and the same sort of display against Leeds would definitely be a great start in hopefully picking up another three points.

Zola is obviously going to want us to have more possession of the ball than we did against Wolves but it may be difficult against a Leeds side that are by no means short on confidence this season.

Another solid, gritty performance from Blues is what is needed and that can start from the energy and pressing of Adams from the front.

If he can force the Leeds defence into a mistake or two then it will give the players a lift as well as the St Andrew`s crowd.

It’s going to be very hard to play through a team that have conceded just 34 goals all season and it’s clear that Monk has got his side extremely well organised.

Blues need to adapt to this and not force the issue. But, the more they press and the more they unsettle that backline, then the more gaps will begin to open and chances arise.

It’ll be another tough test for Blues but I just have that feeling that we may just grab something and a goal from Che Adams at St Andrew`s is definitely due.
