Tottenham Boy Robbie Keane has spoken on his delight at seeing his former team mate Stephen Carr at the Lane this Saturday.

Carr decided to hang up his boots early, but was convinced to return to the game for blues and helped them onto promotion. He started his pro football career at Spurs as a youngster in 1992. Making his debut in 1993 and becoming a 1st team regular by the time of 1996.

Speaking to Tottenhamhotspur.com Keane said
‘It’s fantastic to see him playing again; He retired but was then eager to get back in again.

‘He was unfortunate at Newcastle with a lot of injuries and when you are out of the game for a while, people tend to forget about you. Luckily Birmingham took him on and he’s been fantastic for them.

‘We all know how good he is and it will be good to see him again on Saturday.
‘He was a great servant to Tottenham, a great player here and all the fans always ask me about him.

‘At the peak of his career I don’t think anyone was better. He was quick, a great defender and had great quality going forward. He had everything.’
