Slowly but surely, the Blues are getting a team together.
Birmingham City have completed their fourth signing of the summer. Having already announced Gary Gardner, Jayden Reid and Dan Crowley, they today announced the signing of 21-year-old Jake Clarke-Salter from Chelsea.
Clarke-Salter joins on a season-long loan from the London club, two years later than he was originally supposed to. He was close to signing for the Blues back in 2017, however an injury to then right-back Carl Jenkinson meant that they were forced to look for his replacement instead.
Although a lot of fans were expecting the news after yesterday’s ‘leak’ (which we still haven’t got to the bottom of), there were a few that were waiting for the news to become official before they started to get excited.
Well get excited they did, as they took to Twitter to express their delight at getting another body through the doors at St Andrew’s. And let’s face it, given how thin the squad is at the moment, they need everybody that they can get.
Good work Blues, a very good signing, a young, ball playing defender, no nonsense type.
Will work lovely with Dean and Roberts in a back three

Hopefully this will be the first of a flurry of new signings, although they need to be quick, the window hasn’t got long left to go.
