By way of statement, Birmingham City today gave their full support to Gianfranco Zola. This news was confirmed on Vital Blues yesterday.

The statement, which read – “the Club has not lined up any manager to replace Gianfranco, who has the continual full support of the Blues Board of Directors”, was released to correct a story printed in the Daily Mail which claimed Blues would appoint Slovan Bratislava head coach Ivan Vukomanović.

The statement continued- “Whilst we understand the frustrations caused by the run of results, the way the supporters got behind Gianfranco and the team on Saturday at St. Andrew’s was typical of Blues fans’ passion, care for the Club and desire for success, which is what we all share and much appreciate”.

As Blues fans, all we can now do is get behind the team – as we always do – and hope that Zola can repay the faith shown in him.

  • Zola will only be here until TTA have sold the club. Pots of gold for the summer is aimed at the vulnerable fans who really believe it. Come july imo,the club will be in the midst of a sale.TTA I would imagine never look at league tables just venture capitalists just waiting for the deal.

  • Putting aside all issues,I would urge fans to closely watch the team formation Zola puts out against Rotherham. My fear is that this dreadful manager will jepodise a win from the very start. He is under no pressure to continually fail and this is why a scrappy draw is our best hope.TTA and Zola, imo, know what they are doing..
