Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has high hopes of keeper Ben Foster being fit enough to start in Blues first games of the season against Sunderland on Saturday.
A trip to Sunderland on Saturday could have been unlikely for Foster after he withdrew from the England squad last week with a back problem.
But the 27-year-old looks set to take his place in the starting line up at the Stadium Of Light.
‘Ben’s got a little bit of a back problem,’ McLeish told the club’s official website.
‘There’s a bit of a spasm there, but we’re pretty hopeful and positive for him making it on Saturday.
‘He woke up with a spasm in his back when he was with England, so it wasn’t training or anything.’
