Ooh look…here come the Owls! There is no doubt that they will be trying to swoop into St.Andrews and take three points this weekend but here’s hoping Gary Rowett has prepared his team properly this time round.

The last time the two sides met, Sheffield Wednesday took off in the game and scored three goals against Blues, making them the only side to do so in the entire season in both cup and league.

I am hopeful that this time round the home crowd in B9 will the ones walking away the happier of the two fans and hopefully Blues will be back in the top six with points in hand over Wednesday.

It is fair to say that this game is going to be incredibly tough for Blues and picking players from either side has also been tough for me because both teams have very good squads.

However, having looked closely at both squads, I feel as though I have selected the best possible five-a-side team for this weekends fixture.

GK: Tomasz Kuszczak.

I keep picking Kuszczak to go in goal week after week but the reason I do it is because he just keeps improving all the time for Blues.

He has kept three clean sheets in his last three games and he has also kept 11 all season which is fantastic and it is one of the reasons why we are where we are.

I only chose him ahead of Kieran Westwood because he has two more clean sheets that the Owls keeper, but there is no denying that Westwood is a brilliant player to have in your squad and he is unlucky to miss out on this weeks team.

DF: Jonathan Grounds.

The former Middlesbrough and Oldham Athletic defender has really upped his game in recent weeks and it is something that everyone around the club is thoroughly enjoying watching.

One thing I would say that is missing from his game at the moment is goals and I know that is a lot to ask of a defender but he has scored a few in the previous season so it isn’t out of his reach.

I am hoping that he could bag a big header this weekend and that his defensive side stays strong as well throughout the entire game.

MF: Barry Bannan and Maikel Kieftenbeld.

Kieftenbeld has turned out to be one of the best buys for Birmingham City in the past five years and I think when he is in form like he is at the moment, he is one of the best defensive midfielders in the league.

With three goals to his name, he has added that attacking edge game and it is really encouraging to see that he still has plenty of energy left to burn even though it might be the 90th minute.

In recent weeks he has picked up knocks here and there and when he has gone off we have really noticed a difference and I am hopeful that he is fully fit because we, being myself and the actual team, need him fit for the weekend.

Next to the Dutchman I have chosen to play Bannan which might not go down so well.

However, the former Aston Villa midfielder is actually a very good player and he is somebody that Blues will have to be wary of on Saturday.

A little like Kieftenbeld, the Scotsman has a very good drive on him and his creative spark is one of the reason why Wednesday are where they are in the league.

Because he has improved so much over the course of the season I thought it would only be right to include him in this weeks five-a-side team.

ST: Fernando Forestieri.

The Italian forward has found the back of the net an impressive 11 times this season meaning he has the same amount of goals as Jon Toral and Clayton Donaldson put together!!

Forestieri is a threat that everyone in the Championship needs to be aware of not just Blues and if anyone is going to break our clean sheet run I think it might be him.

It was a tough choice for me to pick a striker from Sheffield Wednesday because Gary Hooper is also a very good attacker who I could have easily chosen, but because of Forestieri’s better goal tally I have opted for him.

Blues and Owls fans, what do you make of this weeks five-a-side team? Do you think we have chosen the best possible team? Let us know in the comment section down below!
