Ahead of Blues’ visit to Craven Cottage tomorrow, Rob Wildey caught up with Reading fan Laura Cutler.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON JAAP STAM?

He seems to be grasping the job well. His hard, strong personality as a player has been bought to the touchline. Perhaps he could be a little bolder at times but he is doing ok.

WHAT WOULD REPRESENT A GOOD SEASON FOR READING?

Progression is a must. Last season we finished a disappointing 17th and although it is too soon for a promotion tilt, a comfortable above-mid-table finish would suffice this season. Anything more is a bonus. Peter Beagrie recently said our squad isn`t that well equipped for a play-off push and I agree.

HOW HAS READING`S SEASON GONE SO FAR?

Ok. I don`t like using that word but it summarises the season perfectly. Three wins, one draw and two defeats mark an ‘ok` start. It`s probably where I`d expect us to be at this point.

IF YOU COULD SIGN ONE BIRMINGHAM PLAYER FOR THE READING SQUAD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Without doubt, Diego Fabbrini. When played in the number ten role he is such a skilful player and someone I`d like to see in a Reading shirt. I watched him for Watford and Middlesbrough and he was very impressive.

WHICH READING PLAYER SHOULD BIRMINGHAM BE WARY OF?

Gareth McCleary can be a handful when he is on form. His pace causes opposition defences a problem and he has an almighty shot on him.

BIRMINGHAM FANS HOLD FOND MEMORIES OF THE MADEJSKI STADIUM AFTER BEING PROMOTED THERE IN MAY 2009. WHAT DO YOU REMEMBER ABOUT THIS GAME?

It was a nerve-racking game and Birmingham came and handled the pressure better than we did. I thought we could have won it after pulling a goal back but it wasn`t to be. Kevin Phillips was immense that afternoon. We had to settle for a play-off spot and lost to Burnley.

WHAT IS YOUR PREDICTION FOR THE GAME?

I`m quite optimistic actually after our last gasp win on Friday night. So` I`m going for a Royals 2-1 win.
