Birmingham City have reportedly made a bid in the region £1 million for Virtus Entella defender Cheick Keita according to the Mail online.

The 20-year-old is a product of the Monaco academy but he is currently playing in the second tier of Italian football which could be one of the reasons why Panos Pavlakis was in Italy at the start of the January transfer window.

When Gianfranco Zola arrived at the club it was quite obvious that Blues were going to be linked with players who are currently playing in Italy and he is the fourth player currently playing abroad that Blues have been linked with in a matter of weeks.

Blues desperately need reinforcements at the back and it now looks like the club are set to beat Newcastle United to the signature of Keita.

Would he be a good addition to the squad Blues fans? Let us know in the comment section down below!
