Maikel Kieftenbeld and David Davis are set to return to the team for Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.

Kieftenbeld has completed a two match ban after receiving his tenth booking against Millwall and Davis has recovered from injury.

The return of the duo will be a welcome boost to manager Steve Cotterill who is under increasing pressure.

Blues have lost their last four games without scoring which has sucked them back into the bottom three.

It was expected that Cotterill would be sacked yesterday after club directors arrived in the UK for meetings but the decision makers decided to stick with him for now at least.

It’s assumed that Cotterill is one defeat away from the inevitable sack but the game at the City Ground is vital to the club’s latest survival bid.

Blues trial fourth bottom Barnsley by two points with 12 Championship fixtures remaining.
