“Days before the knives are out”- These Blues fans apoplectic over latest name linked with job

|

I do sometimes wonder if the board pay attention to what the fans say on social media.

Just to get their ‘finger on the pulse’ of the fanbase as it were.

Well if they do that, then judging by the latest fan vitriol, they might need to change their mind and sharpish.

According to a report from Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports News, the board at St Andrew’s are considering Nigel Clough as one of the contenders for the vacant head coach’s job at the end of the season after Pep Clotet’s resignation last week.

It certainly is a bit of a surprise name to be linked with the job, especially given the calibre of some of the other names that have been mentioned for the job.

And whilst the board seem to be looking for someone with a history of promotion, something Clough achieved at League One level, I’m not quite sure it will count too much in his favour, especially considering his highest ever finish as a manager in English football was 10th when he was managing Derby County.

Are you worried at the ambition of the board if names like Clough are being mentioned?

Yes

No

So it’s no surprise that fans weren’t too happy to see his name linked with the job.

Might be better for the board to look elsewhere.

Considering social media is banned in China I doubt very much the board are listening to the fans!!. After some highly contentious posts from some members of the board based in England they were made to remove their profiles. Now I have to be honest I have no idea whether any of them still follow social media but I’m of the belief that they don’t give a shit what we think anyway.

Clough would come cheap and that would probably suit the board but as I said before there will be a lot of names banded round and at the end of the day although we all have our preferences the board will chooose who they want.

I think we could do a lot worse than Nigel Clough. He did well with Burton and ok with Derby. There is no chance whatsoever we are going up for the foreseeable future with these lot in charge. They sacked Rowett when we were going well and put Zola in when he had finished something like 12th in the Qatari league. So be careful what you wish for.
Lee Bowyer would be a great appointment but why would he come to Blues.
