“Cry more”, “pointless moral victory”- Many Blues fans take great joy at latest EFL news

|

So, I guess we can best quantify this as a slap on the wrist?

Is that what we’re saying?

Well it certainly is a lot better than the last time we were hauled in front of the authorities, so I guess that’s some form of progress. Let’s just hope we don’t have got go through any of it again though, just in case things go bad.

Birmingham City revealed yesterday that the club has been ‘reprimanded’ by the EFL after their appeal against the club for “an alleged breach of elements of a business plan”, however the club will receive no points deduction or fine at the current time despite the fact the independent board found in favour of the EFL.

Are you getting tired of these battles with the EFL?

Yes

No

I’m not going to begin to pretend I know what’s going on, but no significant punishment for us is a good thing, so let’s celebrate it. Although celebration didn’t seem to be on the minds of the fans when the news came through, rather they seemed to take issue with the EFL themselves, indulging in a little bit of schadenfreude over the result.

What about you? What do you make of this news?

It reinforces everything we all know about the EFL:

The EFL is not fit for purpose!

Clubs are in financial meltdown, players are not being paid, TV rights sold for pennies yet thousands spent on lawyers to go against the decision of an independent’ tribunal for no monetary gain! You couldn’t make it up!

All EFL clubs should resign from the current set up and set up a new more competent structure with elected members capable of supporting its members!

It’s the best outcome that the EFL got their moral Victory. Because I had they lost they would have appealed again and again and again they would keep appealing until they get the moral high ground. Appeals costs are club money. Let’s hope it’s gone now. FECK THE EFL
