On Tuesday afternoon (August 2nd), Scottish side Dundee announced that they had completed the signing of former Dunfermline striker Faissal El Bakhtaoui.

The 23-year-old striker played a crucial part in helping Dunfermline win the Scottish League One last season and at the end of the 2015/16, he was allowed to leave the club due to conditions in his contract.

Following his departure from the Pars, El Bakhtaoui has linked with Dundee who may have now found their replacement for Birmingham City target Greg Stewart.

Over the weekend, Gary Rowett admitted that Stewart was a player that he was aware of and that he is somebody that he liked which subsequently led to the club making a bid for him.

However, the bid, believed to be in the region of £300,000 was rejected by the Scottish side, but Blues are expected to return with another offer closer to the initial valuation of £375,000.

With El Bakhtaoui looking likely to be a replacement, it is expected that a decision on Stewart’s future will be decided before the weekend and if all goes to plan, we could even see the 26-year-old winger-come-striker in a Blues shirt before the Oxford United game on the 9th of August.

Despite this development though, reports in Scotland believe that another unnamed English Football League club have bid for Stewart but Blues are still at the front of the line.
