Birmingham City have today announced the permanent signing of Middlesbrough full back Emilio Nsue.

The 27-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal, valued at £1 million with a further £1 million in add-ons and becomes Gianfranco Zola`s third signing of the January transfer window following the arrivals of both Lukas Jutkiewicz and Craig Gardner from Premier League sides Burnley and West Bromwich Albion respectively.

Blues have reportedly managed to land Nsue for £1 million from the side that won promotion to the top flight of English football last season.

The Spaniard can play at right full back, right midfield and he can even be pushed forward to play at right wing. He is expected to be available for Zola to use when Blues head to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

With Nsue being brought in, it is now even more likely that Jonathan Spector will be leaving the club this month.

Before the Newcastle United game, Zola revealed that there was interest in the American from his home nation and the Italian has moved quickly to find a replacement despite having both Paul Caddis and Josh Dacres-Cogley at his disposal.
