Club Reportedly Slap £7m Price Tag On Birmingham Target – Have Your Say

|

TWTD are reporting that Ipswich Town have placed a £7m price tag on striker Martyn Waghorn.

The same website reported last week that we were pursuing the 28-year-old, along with a long list of clubs including Derby County, Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest.

Waghorn had a superb season for the Tractor Boys last campaign. After signing for just £200,000 from Rangers, the forward scored 16 goals and contributed 13 assists.

The former England Under 21 international is also well-known for his work rate and being a nuisance to opposition defenders. His ten yellow cards in the Championship last season are a testament to his ability to get stuck in.

On the face of it, Waghorn would be a perfect fit for Garry Monk’s 4-4-2 formation, being able to drop back into midfield when required, but also score and create goals.

If TWTD‘s information is true and Ipswich are looking for £7m, that would surely put us out of the running, especially with the reported issues we are facing with the EFL over Financial Fair Play.

Do you think the former Rangers striker merits his price tag? Let me know in the poll:
