Stephen Carr will find out today just what the problem is after he was taken off after just five minutes of the game with Royal Antwerp at the weekend.

The 35-year-old left the field holding his thigh and now manager Lee Clark is hoping for good news ahead of the Capital One game with Barnet, but feels that they may have done the player some good by taking him off before the injury got too serious.

“I`ve got everything crossed because he`s a vital player for us,” said Clark to the Birmingham Mail.

“Within minutes of starting, in fact, as soon he crossed the ball very early on, he felt something straight away.

“Hopefully the decision we`ve all made to get him off very quickly will result in that not being too serious. But at the moment it`s too early to say.”
