Blues boss Lee Clark was in no doubt that his side should have had at least a point from the game with Reading at the weekend.

Birmingham had seen most of the play up until Jobi McAnuff opened the scoring for the visitors, but the two sides were level again just four minutes later when Paul Caddis fired home from the penalty spot.

Both sides had chances after that, but it was McAnuff who was on target once again when he turned home a low cross at the far post.

Federico Macheda had earlier hit the bar and after the goal both Nikola Zigic and Chris Burke went close to finding an equaliser.

Clark said to reporters: ‘I feel really disappointed for the players today because the one result that shouldn’t have happened was a defeat for us.

‘The minimum we should have got was a point. We played good stuff, we competed with a really good team and it’s tough for the players to take. The slightest error seems to be getting punished at the moment.

‘We have to regroup. There were a lot of positives to take from this but the lads are hurting and it’s a quiet dressing room.’

Blues are now just five points and two places above the relegation zone with a very important game against Millwall on Tuesday, the side that currently sit in 22nd place.

Its a game that Blues can’t afford to lose.
