Birmingham have extended midfielder Chris Burke’s contract by another year.

The Scotland international is now tied with City until the end of June 2014, thanks to Lee Clark being able to use the clause in the player’s contract.

Burke has been with Blues since joining from Cardiff City in 2011, while with the Welsh outfit he made 102 appearances and found the net 15 times.

He has kept up his goal scoring since coming to St Andrews, knocking in 22 goals in his 100+ appearances. In 2011, Burke featured in 61 of the club’s 62 competitive games as Blues reached the play-offs, scoring 14 goals and won the club’s Player of the Year award.

The 29 year old started his career at Celtic Boys Club before moving across Glasgow to Rangers where the winger made 96 appearances for an 11 goal return.
