Steve Bruce has questioned the staying power of Championship leaders Cardiff City.

In a move that will no doubt have some fans questioning his sanity considering the number of points we have dropped and the fact that Cardiff beat us, Steve remains confident that catching them is only a matter of time.

Speaking to the local press he said:

‘They have done very, very well. All credit to them. However, it’s October now. Are Cardiff going to be there at the end of March? Who knows, they might be. One thing Cardiff have been is pretty settled.

‘And it’s never going to be easy for any team to play at Ninian Park. It is a very intimidating atmosphere, the crowd are right behind them and they’re experiencing that feelgood factor we had when we went on that unbeaten sequence to promotion, and in the first couple of seasons in the Premiership.

‘They have done exceptionally well and they deservedly beat us down there. But can they last the pace? I know for a fact that we are capable of going on a run and that we will get better.

‘At the moment, we are there or thereabouts – but you would think it’s crisis time.

‘There are seven-and-a-half months left of the season – we’ve just scratched the surface.’
