Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has been linked with Birmingham City according to westerndailypress.co.uk. As Gary Rowett starts to venture out into the market for players the rumors will grow and we’ll do our best to find each one and place them here.

Thomas is understood to want to move onto a different challenge after helping Bristol City to the league One title. His club are set to hold another round of talks with him but the general feeling is that he is leaving for a new club.

Looking at Birmingham’s current striker situation there is room for bringing in something different as opposed to what we already have. Taking into account that Zigic is leaving as soon as his contract expires.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is 24 years old and around 185cm tall. His latest match saw him pocket 2 goals in an 8-2 demolition of Walsall. he has scored 24 league goals in 52(30) appearances for Bristol City.

His former clubs include the likes of Ipswich, Cardiff and Arsenal; where he began his career as a trainee. He has had to drop to the lower leagues to get first team football but he certainly seems like a goal threat that Blues could go for.

Clayton Donaldson signed for Birmingham in similar circumstances and ended up winning plenty of accolades in his first season.

Can Blues do it again? is this a good signing in your eyes?
