Bournemouth To Chase Birmingham Winger

Demarai Gray could be set to leave Birmingham as the Daily Mail are reporting that Bournemouth will be coming back in for the youngster.

Bournemouth have already tried to obtain the 18 year old back in January when the club stood strong in rejecting several bids that eventually hit the £5 million mark.

Blues fans don’t particularly like the way Bournemouth went about the bid, increasing it nominally in order to find Blues ‘breaking point’ for the cheapest possible price.

What is interesting is that Gray was booed as a used substitute as Blues lose 4-2 away at Bournemouth towards the end of the last season. Presumably for not signing for them … which was never in his hands, so that is something for him to think about.

Gray had been offered a new deal to remain at St Andrews but has not signed anything yet despite a deal being on the table from early on when interest emerged for him.

This summer may well be the time for more clubs to also show their interest in the teenage winger who has shown he has the potential to come on as a player.

Birmingham are not in financial trouble anymore and there are 7 bids on the table to take the club into new ownership. Will any sales go through before a takeover bid? would new owners want to see Gray leave?

There are many factors at play behind the scenes at Blues at the moment, what is for sure is that the club will demand a high price for Gray.
