As it stands, Birmingham City have three first team strikers at their disposal in Lukas Jutkiewicz, Clayton Donaldson and Che Adams but the one thing they are missing in all of those three is a consistent goal scorer.

With Blues manager Harry Redknapp actively on the look out for players who can potentially carry his side towards the automatic promotion spots or play-off places next season, he could well turn to a former striker of his.

During his time with Queens Park Rangers, Redknapp brought this striker to the capital and during his brief spell with the Hoops, he scored six goals in 14 games in the Premier League.

I am of course talking about current Chelsea striker and Crystal Palace loanee Loic Remy.

Although the striker has had some serious injury problems over the last few seasons which have kept him out of large parts of the season, when he has been fit, it has been clear for all to see that he can be deadly in front of goal if he is given the right service.

Following a successful 6 months with QPR, Remy made the loan move to Newcastle United for the 2013/14 season and in the 27 games that he featured in, he scored 14 goals, meaning that he averaged a goal every other game in the top tier of English football.

With just two games to his name at the start of the 2014/15 campaign, Remy was then snapped up by giants Chelsea.

During that first season with Chelsea, in 27 games, he scored nine goals in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

It would be a bit of a gamble signing Remy but it is clear for all to see that when he is fit, the 30-year-old is a fantastic striker to have and I am almost certain that he could get 15 goals next season in the Championship if Redknapp shows faith in him.

With just one year left on his current contract with Chelsea, I believe that the recently crowned Premier League Champions may well be looking to sell their striker and if Redknapp can pull off this transfer then I think Blues fans could be in for an exciting season next year.

Blues fans, would you take the risk on signing Loic Remy for the upcoming campaign? How much do you think the 30-year-old is worth? Let us know in the comment section down below!
