Yesterday afternoon we brought you the news that Premier League new boys Brighton and Hove Albion were interested in signing Birmingham City striker Che Adams.

They were reportedly rebuffed in their tentative approach for the former Sheffield United forward who enjoyed a good first season with Blues and unless they meet the desired valuation of Adams, believed to be in the £10 million mark, then there will be no further discussions.

However, after talking to a few fans about the situation, it is very clear that everyone is on the same wave length. Adams needs to stay at St.Andrew’s for at least one more season before moving onto pastures new.

In the last three games of the season, barring the red card against Huddersfield Town, Adams looked like a player possessed and under the guidance of new manager Harry Redknapp I fully believe that Adams will now become the poacher that Blues have been looking for.

Dare I say it, he could become the Championship equivalent to Jermaine Defoe, wishful thinking I know but with Redknapp looking to steer Blues towards the top end of the table, he may well tell Adams that is who he should be looking to emulate.

The 21-year-old is believed to be fully enjoying life under Redknapp, 70, and a source close to Vital Birmingham confirmed that he is looking forward to working with the former Tottenham Hotspur manager next season.

With that in mind, it looks like Blues could for once be about to hold onto one of their prized assets for more than a season and hopefully it will work out better for them in the long run because Adams could well be playing Premier League football with Blues in the future.

For me, if Adams wants to improve himself as a player, he will stick with Blues for at least another season and see what Redknapp has to offer him and then he will reassess his situation next summer.

Blues fans, how important is it for us to keep hold of Che Adams for this upcoming Championship campaign? Let us know in the comment section down below!
