According to reports in Spain, potential Blues target John Guidetti is currently in talks with La Liga side Celta Vigo over a possible transfer.

Despite reports being vague that Gary Rowett was after the former Manchester City and Celtic striker, the rumour that he might have been on his way to St.Andrews definitely caused a stir amongst groups of fans.

However, Faro de Vigo are now reporting that the Swedish striker is set to shun interest from the Blues and Europa League winner Sevilla in order to continue his career with Celta.

As a free transfer with a clear eye for goal, this transfer would have been ideal for Rowett and his staff but like many other potential transfers, wages would have almost certainly been a stumbling block should anything have come from the initial rumours.

It has been reported widely that the former Burton Albion boss is looking for another striker to take some of the pressure off last season`s top goal scorer and Player of the Season Clayton Donaldson, but it does not look as though that striker will be Guidetti.

Blues fans, what do you make of this news? Do you agree that wages would have been a problem with this deal? Let us know down in the comment section below!
