Birmingham City are understood to be exploring the options of a return for Lloyd Dyer, Rob Kiernan, Robert Tesche and Diego Fabbrini on permanent deals over the summer.

Each player made an impact in their own way, some more than others but it is understood that Rowett is keen on all of them after several news outlets have commented on the situation.

Lloyd Dyer did not set the house on fire and indeed got slightly better as he adapted to Blues style of play. He also came as Blues were having to change from a counter-attacking team to a possession based team so it was difficult for him. With that said he is a very capable player that is well worth the addition to the squad.

Rob Kiernan is a competent defender with much more room to grow as a player. Blues looked solid with him in the team and mistakes were lower. Rowett likes him and it is no surprise he wants to keep him. He also plays for Wigan, who have since been relegated so it is a real possibility he could return.

As for Tesche it is difficult to say. He expressed a willingness to go back to Forest and try to compete for a place there and I don’t know how likely that is. But, he knows Birmingham now and obviously enjoyed his time here, so we’ll have to wait and see on this one. Forest fans certainly want to keep him.

Then finally there is Diego Fabbrini, who made an instant impact when he played against Wolves and continued to play well when on the field. He adds something different to the team with his trickery and is very good at holding the ball, I’d love to see him back, Rowett certainly thinks highly of him and believes he can get even more out of him so lets hope Watford don’t want to keep him.

All of these signings would make the squad much more diverse and certainly improve the quality. If I had to pick one, it would be Tesche but that’s just personal preference of where I think the team needs the player most.

What do you think? Who would you sign or pass on? let us know!
