Birmingham City manager Lee Clark has been discussing Lee Novak’s knee injury and it appears he could be out for a while as ‘it doesn’t look good’.

Novak injured his knee in a tackle with Jozsef Varga as Birmingham lost 3-1 to 9-man Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

Following committed performances in a season of disappointments for Birmingham fans Lee Novak could be described as one of the success stories.

Novak gives his all in every game and has managed an important 10 goals this season for the midlands side; who are very much now in the thick of it.

Versatility in such short staffed times has been a blessing for his manager and Lee Novak has played in midfield, out wide and up front for his teams cause this season.

Zigic came on for Novak after the injury and Birmingham lined-up as a 4-4-2 formation; the tactic that undid a Doncaster side the weekend before.

Novak played for Huddersfield before his move to the Sky Bet Championship this season, scoring 34 goals in 89 starting appearances. He has 8 League goals this campaign with 10 in all competitions.
