Birmingham City have denied that they are to run out of cash in a matter of weeks due to a £1.8 million tax bill that needs paying.

The club have released a statement saying that they are straight with the tax man. The drama comes after Peter Pannu hit out earlier today claiming the club had a bill to pay and it was enough to put them into serious trouble.

It is likely that Mr Pannu is hitting out following BIHL’s actions over the past few days. They effectively shut down his attempts to move the club onto his preferred bidders.

Following the exit of Peter Pannu, Birmingham have been able to stablise their funds and improve their fortunes on the pitch. So it is no surprise they are extremely disappointed by the timing of these stories.

Birmingham do not seem to be in financial trouble, the club have repeatedly paid sums of money for players. That does not seem like the actions of a club that has a huge tax bill to pay.

Until there is any evidence to suggest otherwise it would seem the club is stable and in, so far!, good hands with Mr Pavlakis. We are aware the club does not have cash to spare but it seems like there are some board room politics being played out at BCFC’s expense here.

And, as for us, the fans, I would exercise caution in favoring the comments of a man that has presided over the worst period in the clubs recent history. Whilst destroying relations with the fans and reducing attendances to below 14,000.
