Birmingham City have announced that summer signing Shane Lowry has left the club by mutual consent and has gone on to join Australian side Perth Glory.

We brought you the news on Tuesday that Lowry was close to agreeing a deal with the A League side and now the deal has been confirmed by the Championship outfit.

It remains unclear as to why Lowry was so unsuccessful during his time at St.Andrews but due to the lack of opportunities it is clear to see why the 26 year old has left the club.

The move sees the former Aston Villa, Leyton Orient and Leeds United defender move back to his home town and it is believed that the deal was best for both parties.

Although he failed to make an impact during his time at the club, he will be remembered for scoring on his debut as a trialist against Kidderminster Harriers in a 1-1 draw.

The departure of the defender now leaves a question in the back of all fans minds, will there be another defender coming into the club before February 1st?

Blues fans, let us know who you think could replace Lowry in the comment section down below!
