After Blues and Blackpool met in the first leg of the Championship playoff semi-final, it`s Blues that have it all to do in the second leg.

City are 1-0 down after the first 90 minutes of this clash due to a large slice of luck for the Seasiders which gave them the slender advantage.

Paul Inces` son Thomas found himself with time to shoot from just inside the box, his initial effort was going hopelessly wide of the target until the ball deflected off Curtis Davies and past Colin Doyle in the Blues goal.

That goal came on the stroke of half time and gave the home side the momentum to go forward looking for a second in the second half and that goal dearly came after good work by Ince set up Stephen Dobbie who fired high and wide with just the keeper to beat.

Both teams had goals disallowed for offside with Marlon King putting the ball in the net for Birmingham and Blackpool substitute Kevin Phillips also having a goal chalked off.

So it`s all to play for on Wednesday night at St Andrews.

West Ham United, who like Blackpool and Birmingham went down from the Premier League last season, hold a 2-0 lead against Cardiff City after their semi-final first leg on Thursday.
