Blackpool manager Ian Holloway was happy that his side have the advantage over Blues for the second leg of the play-off semi final, but hopes that missed chances won`t eventually cost them dear.
The only goal of the game was an own goal for Blackpool by the unlucky Curtis Davies, when a shot from Thomas Ince that was going wide, hit Davies and went past Colin Doyle just before half time.
In the second half there were chances for Blackpool to increase their lead through Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Stephen Dobbie and Kevin Phillips who had the ball in the net but he was offside.
Right at the end of the game, the home side nearly came unstuck when Marlon King hit the woodwork.
Holloway said: ‘They nearly nicked an equaliser – I’d be fuming if that was the case because, generally, I thought we deserved to just edge it.
‘I’m delighted it (the goal) went in, I think we needed that, but a couple of those others – deary, deary me. I hope we don’t rue the day that we missed them.
‘Taylor-Fletcher, what a great block. That was unbelievable. That’s as good as a goal sometimes.
‘And then Dobbie, it was a wonderful piece of skill from Incey and I’d have had everything I’ve got on him just rolling it in.’
