The month of September is like any other month in the football calendar, chock full of games!

Blues face another six games this month and I am going to look at who we are playing and who their star player is.

First up, Blues play league new comers Bristol City on Saturday the 12th.

City, who currently sit 20th in the table with the joint second worst goal difference in the league shouldn’t be a problem for Gary Rowett’s side.

However, we should be wary of the underdog! They have already beaten Middlesbrough on the road this year and I wouldn’t like to rule them out just yet.

For me, their star player has to be Kieran Agard. The striker has a bag full of pace and he will be looking to add to his one goal already this season. He could prove to be a handful for Spector and Morrison.

Next up after Bristol City for Blues is Nottingham Forest. Dougie Freedman’s side currently sit in 16th place as I am writing this and they have five points on the board.

The game against Forest is always a good one and I don’t doubt that this one will be any different. I personally think there could be goals in this game, like there usually is.

Looking at their squad, after losing Michail Antonio on deadline day, I can’t really pick out a player who has shone during their opening five fixtures, but we should be wary of new signing Nelson Oliveira.

After the Forest game, Blues head to Ipswich Town on Friday the 18th. Last season, Ipswich were one of the surprise packages and they comfortably beat Rowett’s men 4-2 at Portman Road.

For me, I think a point against the Tractor Boys would be a good result. The player I think we should be looking out for is Freddie Sears.

The striker is one of the deadliest in the league and if we aren’t careful he could do some damage to our back line.

Next up after Ipswich away is the game that most fans have been waiting for, away at Aston Villa.

This game for me is the match of the month! Without a doubt this will be the one that everybody is focusing on and I believe it will be a game to showcase just how well we are doing.

Villa have had a rocky start to this seasons Premier League but that is due to all the new faces that have been brought in.

I do however think there is one player we need to be very aware about. That player is Scott Sinclair. He has hit the ground running this season and he already has five goals. For that reason, I think Jonathan Grounds could be in trouble on the night.

After the Villa game, Blues take on Rotherham at home where I think we should be looking to get three points with a comprehensive scoreline as well.

If we don’t beat them by three or more goals I will wonder how we haven’t. They haven’t had the best start to the season and for me I believe they will be one of the three teams that will be going down this year.

The player I think we should be looking out for is former loanee Matt Derbyshire. He scored a hatful of goals last year for United and I think on his day he could cause us problems.

Finally, Blues take on Brentford away in the last fixture of September. Previously postponed due to Brentford’s decision that they wanted to relay their pitch, I think Rowett will be looking to continue the clubs form into this game.

I think we should be looking to get three points out of the game but I would also be satisfied with one.

The player I think we should be looking out for in the Bee’s squad is Jota. The 24 year old is one of the stand out players for the London club and I think once again he could be a player to cause Grounds some problems.

I believe we should be looking to get around 11 points from the five league games this month as well as hopefully progressing in the cup.

Blues fans, what game are you most looking forward to this month? How many points do you think we can take out of a possible 15? Let us now in the comment section down below!
