Romanian born David Popa has been confirmed as a new Blues player. He will play mainly with the U18’s next season.

David Popa, a Romanian born striker, has recently signed for the Blues academy.

According to www.play-maker.ro; he has been a trialist at Birmingham City following his involvement with the Manchester City youth teams for the past couple of seasons.

The article also goes on to express Popa’s views about the club. ‘I felt like is the right place for me to be at, there are good training facilities and the staff are very friendly. They did their best to make me feel at home.’

I believe that David Popa has the right attitude to succeed at the Blues. The determination to impress is clear for all to see. ‘My aim is to get in the U21 squad this year and I know to get there I have to work hard with the U18’s but that is fine with me.’

A clinical striker, in my view, who is brilliant at holding the ball up. Another good addition to the youth squads here at Birmingham. All a step in the right direction for future squads.
