Who The Ref Are You? Bristol City

|

John Brooks has been appointed as referee for Blues’ home clash with Bristol City this Saturday.

Brooks was promoted into the Football League in 2016, shortly after running the line in the FA Cup Final that year.

The Leicestershire born referee has overseen 11 Championship fixtures this season, giving out 39 yellow cards and 3 red cards, including Matthew Pennington’s red card away at St.Andrews in September. He has also given red cards to Stoke City and Middlesbrough while gifting penalties to Stoke City and Hull City during home defeats.

Interestingly, of the referees to take charge of more than 5 Championship games this season, only one referee has seen the away side win a higher percentage of matches.

Brooks was last in charge of Blues during our 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town in September, the only match he has ever officiated involving the Blues. He has also taken charge of two Bristol City fixtures, a 2-2 draw at Bolton Wanderers and a 1-0 home victory over Sheffield United.

He will be assisted by Adam Crysell and Daniel Leach with Christopher Sarginson looking to keep the peace between Garry Monk and Lee Johnson.
