Maikel Kieftenbeld scored a spectacular half-volley from outside the box in the 1-1 draw against Brighton at the weekend.
The Dutchman rarely scores, but they are usually belters when he does hit them. This was an excellent strike into the top-right hand corner:

Verdict:
With just five goals in 124 games for us, perhaps our no.6 should try a few more from long range next season! It’s a great strike, but hopefully, we don’t have to rely too much on Maikel for goals.
It’s been frustrating that we haven’t been able to bring in more firepower after a poor showing in front of goal last campaign. However, after a full pre-season under Garry Monk, I am confident we will be a threat going forward regardless.
I don’t expect us to be piling in the goals with the lack of a prolific number nine, but we have to improve on the 38 we scored last season.
