Birmingham City have recalled their young keeper Nick Townsend after the youngster was not being used at Lincoln.
The Conference side had been playing the stopper early on in the loan as he chalked up 17 league appearances.
But since then he has failed to play since a 1-1 draw with Wrexham on 18 October.
A clause in the loan deal meant that Blues could recall the youngster in January and they have wasted no time protecting their player from further bench time.
Townsend will return to Birmingham in a bid to continue his development and search for another potential loan deal.
Lincoln thanks Nick for his time at the club and wished him well for the future.
