Manchester United centre-half Tom Thorpe is back at St Andrews on an emergency loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old originally came to Blues on the January transfer deadline day, but when he played in his debut game against Derby County, he picked up an ankle injury and had to return to Manchester for treatment.

A little later it was confirmed that he would not be fit to take to the field for some time and the deal with City was cancelled.

But now Thorpe is back to full fitness and raring to go so Lee Clark has swooped for the player to add to Federico Macheda and Tyler
Blackett who are already at St Andrews.

The defender stands a chance of getting a game on Saturday against Bournemouth.
