Just before the international break, Birmingham City demolished recently relegated Norwich City 3-0, ending their unbeaten run in the league and their incredible away record in the Championship and a win this weekend would only boost the morale of the squad in my opinion.

At the start of the season, I predicted that Fulham would be likely candidates for relegation into League One, and so far, they are proving me wrong, going unbeaten in five heading into this weekends fixture.

However, if Gary Rowett’s Blues can pick up where they left off against the Canaries then Slavisa Jokanovic’s side could be in for a rude awakening like they were last season when we went there.

The London based outfit are currently second in the division with 11 points after winning three and drawing the other two of their opening five games, but they could be knocked off their perch this weekend should Blues go their with the correct sort of game plan.

On deadline day, the Cottagers added Derby County striker Chris Martin and Chelsea midfielder Lucas Piazon to their ranks, both fantastic additions in my eyes, especially at Championship level, which will make them even harder to beat, but with the right amount of confidence, I am sure Blues will go there hoping, maybe expecting, to win the game.

Although Fulham haven’t exactly been sparkling in their opening five league games, they have done what they have set out to do and score the opening goal of the game and then try and hang on for the three points and more often than not, that tactic has worked out for them.

So, you have to ask yourself, what will Rowett want to do in the game on Saturday and for me, the answer is simple…score the opening goal and let the home side come on to you.

In the seven games that Jokanovic has managed, his side have only gone behind once, against Premier League side Middlebrough in the EFL Cup, so it is simple, Blues need to do what they have always strived to do away from home and that is counter attack the home side and nick a goal and wait for the pressure to mount.

Personally, I think Fulham could be a side that Blues will frustrate and if they do that well over the course of the 90 minutes then I am pretty confident that we will walk away with all three points.

That said, at the time of writing this, I would be very happy to take a point from the game.

Blues fans, do you agree that a win at Craven Cottage on Saturday would further boost the confidence of Gary Rowett’s men? Let us know in the comment section down below!
