Gary Rowett could be back in the St. Andrews dugout next weekend – albeit the visitors dugout – as Blues take on Nottingham Forest.

Pressure is increasing on Forest manager Philippe Montanier after a poor first half of the season and a third round cup exit at the hands of Wigan this afternoon. Some reports suggest that Forest’s new owners, set to be announced in the coming days, have already lined Rowett up to take the reigns.

While Forest haven’t commented, for obvious reasons, it is thought that Rowett would welcome the job in the East Midlands local to where he lives.

If Forest’s new owners do wield the axe, Rowett will be clear favourite to replace Montanier.

  • Rowett would be the perfect choice to oppose. We know his style, game plan and Zola would use all of this by going through the middle with Jukey,Adams and hopefully Gardner and Davis behind them. Wing play at the moment is not us as we simply haven’t the pace. Pleased to see Cogley crossing a nice ball and his overall balance with both feet look impressive. Just need a big commanding CB. Would Zola’s mate John Terry be tempted with the tag of a asst.manager tag I wonder.
