Former Everton manager Roberto Martinez is the front runner to replace Steve Bruce at Hull City.

Recent reports have linked Blues manager Gary Rowett with a move to the KCOM Stadium. Several bookmakers place Rowett as third favourite after Martinez and Mike Phelan. But it seems Hull are trying to agree a deal with Martinez.

The Daily Mirror report “City officially began the interview process to find his successor on Tuesday, but Martinez stole a march on his rivals for the post by secretly meeting Allam on Sunday”.

Rowett is highly rated as one of the best young managers in English football and his stock is very high after overseeing a transformation in a season-and-a-half at St. Andrews.

Former Blues boss Bruce walked out on newly promoted Hull after a being left with just thirteen senior players ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
