Return of The Don

Clayton Donaldson’s return to the squad represents a massive boost for Birmingham City as they host Newcastle United this afternoon.

The Don last played for Blues during Gary Rowett’s final game – the win over Ipswich in December – and has been sidelined for 18 games since.

While Donaldson may be pressing towards his twilight years, he can have a massive impact on the outcome of the season.

Yet to feature under Gianfranco Zola, the 33-year-old will be named in the 18 man squad today.

Donaldson has his critics at St. Andrews, but over the last two seasons the amount of games Blues have won without the Jamaican can be counted on one hand.

Welcome back, The Don.
