It was a slow burner at the start, but Harry Redknapp got there in the end.

Any worries or frustration that we’ve had in the last few weeks all fell into one place yesterday.

The board backed Harry and he’s now put together a squad that he hopes can compete for promotion – it’s now up to him to help them deliver, it’s his team now.

We’ve got a great blend of leaders, reliable performers, young talent and genuine quality that can win Championship matches.

On paper, it all looks rosy. Let’s just hope that that the 14 new faces can fit straight in and begin to pick up results.

Overall, it’s been an extremely impressive transfer window for Blues. You could say that there’s one missing link in the centre of midfield, deals for Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Ogenyi Onazi, Afriyie Acquah and Alex Song were all close but we couldn’t quite get one of them over the line.

But, let’s see how we do without the addition of that type of player. There’s always the January window if they’re needed.

We’ve basically got a completely new team and we’ve said goodbye to a few players that have served us well. It’s sad to see the likes of Clayton Donaldson and Maikel Kieftenbeld leave, but the club are moving on to a fresh era.

The likes of club-record signing Jota and loanee Sam Gallagher give us the firepower and genuine class that so many other clubs were after – Blues fought off intense competition to complete a number of deals.

Now is the time to get to work and for Harry to put all of his ideas together. We’ve got just over a week until the next game away at Norwich and I can’t wait to see the reshaped team in action.
