Serie A side Palermo are confident that Fabrizio Miccoli will turn his back on a move to St Andrews and remain with the Italians.

Blues have been chasing Miccoli for a while now and have placed a few bids for the player, but Palermo are determined to keep the 30 year old.

A press conference has been arranged for Thursday where Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini expects the player to announce he is staying put.

‘Fabrizio will remain with us,’ Zamparini told reterete24.it.

‘Yesterday I met Miccoli, and I reiterated the esteem and confidence the club holds him in. He was a bit worried after he suffered a knee injury. But I told him to stay because we consider him a key part of the project.’
