‘Our Best Defender’ – Birmingham Fans Call For Defensive Stalwart’s Return For Crucial Clash

|

A few Birmingham fans would like to see Jonathan Grounds return at left-back for the Fulham game.

Maxime Colin hasn’t looked that comfortable playing out of position and was to blame for one of the goals against QPR.

On Twitter, some were calling for Garry Monk to bring the experienced full-back into the starting eleven.

Verdict:

It seems like a good idea to go with a player who has the experience of playing the last game of the season in a battle for survival. However, who do you replace?

The obvious decision would be to switch Colin back to right-back, but that would mean benching Wes Harding who has done well since being selected to start.

Grounds only start so far under Monk came in the 2-0 defeat to Wolves before he was substituted on the hour mark for Jacques Maghoma.

The manager will be weighing up this decision, along with a number of either selection dilemmas, ahead of the crucial game on Sunday.
