Well it is the one that everyone has been waiting for since the fixtures were announced in June, Aston Villa at home!

In what is Steve Cotterill’s second taste of the second city derby, the new Birmingham City boss will be hoping that this time round he will be on the right side of the result having lost 1-0 last time out whilst assisting Harry Redknapp at Villa Park last season.

The new manager takes charge of just his third game since his appointment and the game against our local rivals will be just his second in charge at home.

Last time out at St.Andrew’s, Blues recorded a well earned 1-0 win over high flying Cardiff City and Cotterill will be looking for the same sort of intensity from his starting line up in the game against Villa.

I believe that Cotterill may look to change one or two things heading into the game against fifth placed Villa and I think we will see the likes of Craig Gardner and club-record signing Jota return to the starting line up.

Down below is the side that I think Cotterill will name along with the seven substitutes…

GK: Kuszczak

RB: Colin
CB: Morrison
CB: Roberts
LB: Grounds

CDM: Kieftenbeld
CDM: Gardner

RAM: Jota
CAM: Boga
LAM: Adams

ST: Vassell

Substitutes: Trueman, Nsue, Dean, Ndoye, Davis, Maghoma, Jutkiewicz.

Blues fans, do you think David Davis will drop to the bench? Will Jeremie Boga return to the starting line up? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
