More Players To Go?

Birmingham chief Peter Pannu says that further investment in the club is needed or it is likely that there will be more player sales in January.

That`s not the sort of thing that Chris Hughton needs to hear after doing a good job of forming a team that can challenge for a top place in the Championship as well as make progress in the Europa League.

Parent company Hong Kong-based Birmingham International Holdings Ltd remains in serious financial difficulty.

Carson Yeung is unable to help out at the moment after having his assets frozen so the powers that be investigate as to whether he has been a naughty boy or not.

The financial accounts are said to be looking poor, a loss is expected to be announced and the only way to raise cash is to have yet another sale of players.

Chairman Pannu said: ‘There has not been any money from the parent company since relegation.

‘Those in Hong Kong are working hard to address this and there is the hope that new investors will provide more capital once they understand the club better and after a re-listing of the parent company.

‘I will continue to make trips to Hong Kong, on a regular basis, to keep pushing BIHL and its shareholders to invest in the club.’
