Former Blues striker Marlon King has completed a move to Sheffield United.

The 33 year old left Birmingham by mutual consent in August, now he has the chance to get a bit more out of playing before he retires by signing a deal that will keep him at Bramall Lane until the end of the season.

The Blades have been struggling to find goals of late and in King he has a striker still capable of finding the net after scoring 18 in his first season at St Andrews.

“Marlon is vastly experienced and has scored goals throughout his career, many of which that have come in the Championship,” said Blades manager David Weir.

“We have been lacking someone with his experience and knowhow and his presence will take the pressure off the younger lads, whilst giving everyone a lift.

“Marlon has recently played international football so although he hasn`t played at club level this season we will be looking to introduce him as quickly as possible.”

It’s good to see King has found another club, but it’s also sad that the club was in such a position to have to let him go in the first place.
