Birmingham City have announced that teenage midfielder Koby Arthur has penned a new two year deal with the club.

Both player and club have been in negotiations for some time now and finally an agreement has been reached between the pair. The 19 year old joined the club in 2012 but has found it hard to keep hold of a regular first team place under both previous manager Lee Clark and current manager Gary Rowett.

Since joining the club, Arthur has made 12 appearances for the club but he has also made appearances for non-league side Lincoln City and league two side Cheltenham Town, where he score four goals in eight games for the Robins.

Before eventually signing his new contract with the Blues, the Ghanaian sensation was widely tipped to join either Ipswich Town or Brentford, both of which lost out in the playoffs last campaign. However, Rowett has managed to convince Arthur to stay with the club for a further two years and the management now expect him to push on for more first team action.
